Shorts---where art thou?

I need some shorts--desperately.  I have a handful of capris that are work appropriate and more casual.  I have jeans up the wazoo.  But shorts? I have one freakin' pair!  They are Massimo for Target grey flat-front shorts and I got them at the beginning of the season from Value Village.
And I wear those $7.99 numbers to death!
But I kinda need more than that.  Not only for the rest of summer (I have been subsisting on cotton skirts, maxi-dresses and capris on cool days when my shorts are dirty) but for Mexico and beyond.  So what am I to do?
I have chubby, shapeless, cellulitely legs and they just look awful in shorts that are too short.  To the knee is ideal. Try finding those in a sea of jean cutoffs and little late butt-covers.  No chance.  This was not the season for the pear-shaped gal.
I love the idea of a harem inspired pair like in the top picture.  Can be dressed up for down, hides a multitude of sins, and is just kind of different.
The second pair is the perfect length and I love how Sofi Fahrman has styled them with heels and a gauzy white shirt.  Perfect day to night combo.
The third and fourth make sense to me in theory, worn by a gal with similar body type to me (and the navy pair in eyelet? Adorbs!) but I think they might still be too short.
Anyway, the search continues.  I think when I get some moola I might stalk Reitmans and Ricki's.  I'll keep you posted.  Might also make sense to go back to Value Village and take my chances.  And we finally have a Target of our own, but I am not seeing good shorts there...yet? They are still getting stock in.
We shall see....I'll keep you posted.  Obvi!

Venus Order

Thought I needed some new outfits for Mexico.  *GUILTY FACE*  So I went on the cheap and trendy site Venus.com and got some good finds.  Here's what I finally narrowed it down to and ordered:
I ordered this tankini top for Granny (my mom-in-law, Charlene).  So cute right?! Comes in other colours and I forwarded the link to my mom who should totally get the turquoise! Adorbs!
I got this tankini for me.  My friend Lollie told me I looked good in this cobalt blue colour so obviously I was sold.  I got another cheap pair of black bottoms to wear with.
It's mint green.  Has an anchor.  Has arm cutouts.  And is sparkly.  I think I've said it all.   I have some straight leg jeans with nautical rope designs on pockets that were made for this!
Total easy-easy beach dress.  Throw over a bathing suit and head to the pool!
This style (fit and flare) really works for me. I  also love this length and the shades of blue and I think this jersey material will be perfect to pack and wear in Mexico!
Another simple beach cover up maxi in a sexy wrap style.  And this emerald colour was too good to pass up!

As you can tell I'm pretty excited.  I've already made a list of what I'm packing ad wearing each day (day and evening wear).
I'll give you a peek into the process as I go!

UPDATE: All my stuff came in about a week an a half.  I had to pay extra duty as it was coming from the States but I kinda expected that.  The pink tankini I ordered for Charlene was absolutely adorable.  It kind of does a "v" point in the front which is super flattering.
My tankini was SUPER lined with removable foamy boob cups that I don't think I'll need and I'll probably just take out.  The inside is also fully lined--but in white.  I'm a bit worried that it might show through at the boobal area.  I'll keep you posted.
Sweatshirt arm "cut outs" are a little small for shoulder to full peek out and I got a large and probably should have gotten a medium as it's a little too wide and boxy.  But the colour is great and I can still totally make it work!
Colour of red on this maxi dress is ah-mah-zing! So excited to wear it.
Blue and cream fit and flare dress is less structured then you might think from the picture, which is fine as it's jersey and comfy and totally appropriate to stuff in your suitcase and wear in the sun.
This turquoise wrap dress will be the toughest to tell.  It has inner ties that go though and wrap around, making it kind of nice to wrap around yourself at the pool with a damp suit and go.  I am just worried that the wraps two sides won't completely meet and I'll be flashing everyone.  I'll let you know how that works as well.
Would you like me to model some of or all of these items in a post? Let me know!

New Stuff!

Did some shopping as of late.  Need some new stuff for those big two weeks in Mexico, you know! (Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is where we are going to be wed, come this November).
Anyway, here's some of the stuff I got!
New Bench sweater.  Gingham patches? Sold!  It has a nice, casual boxiness that is very cute too.
Love these kinds of tight little spandex-y tanks to suck you in and give you some coverage under t-shirts and tanks.
 ADORABLE Billabong floral tank top.
Also got this one with super-flattering sweetheart neckline but it's in the laundry.
Got these new crazy nails for my bachelorette and I am loving them.  (Got this edible body icing too *wink*)
White.  Black.  Grey.  Perfect Ts by Powder Room.
THIS SKIRT is the reason I get out of bed in the morning.  This print?  In Mexico with a simple white t-shirt or tight black tank?  Please! (from Melanie Lynn)
 Back
 Front.
Am-ah-zing Max Studio maxi dress found at Winners.
Imagine it on my holiday? I am!
Beautiful Billabong beach sweater in one of my favorite colours (and also one of my wedding colours: fuchsia & turquoise).
Check out the "tattery" details of sweater.  You know, no biggie, just chilling on the beach.
Cute and simple Melanie Lynn cowel neck shirt.  Both deep emerald green colour and neckline are super flattering on me. :)
Super simple tie-dyed cotton beach cover-up.  Need I say more?
Love this suit!  Very flattering and as close to looking like Ursula Andress as Pussy Galore as I think I'll get this vacation.
And check out (me checking out) the back.  Deep V is very sexy in a classy way.

So far that's what I've got! Have you bought anything special lately??

GAP shrunken boyfriend gingham shirts

These are the cutest things ever.  That is all.
.
.
.
Ok, maybe not all.  They are on sale at GAP right now so there aren't much left by I've seen them all over (Supersore/Joe Fresh...) and I think they are the cutest little summer shirt.  Throw 'em on over a pair of shorts or a maxi dress and you are set!

Happy Monday!

Hey everyone! Just came back from a weekend at the lake so I obviously hate being home and have no desire to enter into any "real-world" situations.  But, alas, I must.
My camera sucks (after I dropped it at Jack's birthday, remember?) and so I tried to take some pictures of the shoes I have been wearing and loving this summer and, wait for it, my WEDDING SHOES!!
But some of them didn't turn out.  Some of them did, though, so here they are:

The above two pictures are of my wedding shoes.  Not sure if ya'll remember the detailing at the side of the dress but it's distinctly "silvery" I would say.
So I think these little flats will be perfect on the little jetty that we will be out on.
Randomly, here is a new Steve Madden bag I just got.  Love it!! Both wedding sandals and bag from Winners.
These little gold t-bar sandals with black leather KILL IT with everything.  Perfect!
Rose gold sandals from Forever 21.  I wear them all the time.  They are a great shimmery pop at the bottom of skinny jeans or maxi skirts.

And just super fun but not very functional: floral platforms, also from Forever 21.

And that's all for right now folks.
Except for, I am wearing and loving this shirt that I got and mentioned in one of my last posts:

Cute hey? Especially the photo bomb c/o Ava :)

Stylemint

I love the super styled everyday clothes on Stylemint.  I had some credits so I cashed them in!
This is what I got:

I needed some sleeveless shirts (that weren't Old Navy too-loose tank tops) for summer.  They are easy to throw on but because of their structure, material, buttons, collar, etc. they make you look more put together.  I need structure.  I feel like a regular t-shirt or cotton tank does me no justice.
Plus I feel like they will go well with these funky cropped pants I just got from Reitmans.  Very Betty Draper, non?
Oh, and I got the little infinity scarf as I've always wanted one and it's just so cute.  A great way to wear stripes (which are major right now, and forever timeless) into your wardrobe if you are worried they might make you look wide in a shirt or pant.
Another great way to get stripes in is in your footwear, like these two striped babies from Shoemint (Stylemint's sister site)

Cute, right?
Oh, and I got these shirts from Stylemint a while ago and while they may not look like "WoWzErS!"in the pictures, they are super comfy, well-made, and I get a TON of wear out of them:

Yay!!! Shopping!!!
