I found a TLC link somewhere on the internet and got lost in an awesome television land.  We don't have cable (only Netflix) and when I think of the shows I miss it's always crap mind-numbing deliciousness that can onyl be found on TLC.
I stumbled across an "Stacy London Fashion Lookbook" on TLC (Stacy, of "What Not to Wear" fame...why am I even explaining this?  You know her!) and I just couldn't help looking through all 90 pictures and picking the ones out that were my fave.  Here they are for you:

An oldie but a goodie.  The red pencil skirt and beautiful scoop neck sweater is like the epitome of office appropriate sexy.

I love this bad-ass black and grey on more black.  So tough and I totally think workable at a lot of ages.

This is just amaze.  The shoes, the bouse, the fun little cardigan thing.  It's casual and oh-so-put-together.

There were some comments underneath the slideshow on the TLC website where old ladies were bitching that Stacy is too old to have long hair (fuck off you old witches!) or that she will get tired of coloured denim and her shoes are too clunky (old witches: see previous brackets).
The only real miss that I can see is this one and you guys may disagree with me here:

The neckline is too high and there is too much on top to balance with the shorts, the shorts alone are just a bit too short to help bring look together (but by no means "pull off" as I think this outfit is nowhere near that) and those shoes are just ass.  Look at Stacy's face in this picture.  She knows what she did.

--Ruche--I Want--

Ruche is awesome.  It reminds me of ModCloth but fancier?  They have cute vintage-inspired clothes at good prices.  Here are some of my present favorites.

 

 Cute dresses, right?  These are not too vintage-y and they have cuts that would flatter, I should think.

 Adorable grey chevron glasses case.

 Adorable heart-shaped glasses to go in the case! I used to have pink heart shaped glasses when I was 16 and I loved them.  I think these are the (more) grown up version.  And yes, I would TOTALLY wear them!

 

Hmmm...which colour to choose?

 I am going to a Hayden concert in March and these would go great with a pencil skirt, a nice (but sheer) tied-neck blouse and a casual up-do.  N'est pas?

--Zara--What I Want--

Here are some things I want from Zara.  There is no location near me.  I may never acquire these items.  That is all.

Beautiful scooped neck long-sleeve.  Comes in other colours but this is the one for me.  Great length too!

Snow leopard purse? YES!

This model doesn't really do this skirt justice but a red lace pencil skirt (that isn't too short!) is like my holy grail!  This would look so good dressed up or down and is a nice change from my navy/black pencils.

Leather look raglan sleeve.  Hello! This was designed be my subconscious.

This red jacket.  Need I say more?

And as we go into Spring here (no time soon, but...) I think this grey jacket would be perfect.  It has a cute hood too.

Skincare Routine Revised

Ok, so I haven't talked about my skincare routine in a while, so I thought I would.
I have been really concentrating on my skin lately, mainly because since I moved to Saskatoon in July, my skin has been freaking! And I've been freaking! And back-peddaling and revamping, and sampling, and changing all the things I know and do regarding my face.
Plus I'm getting older (30) and my skin is dehydrated (thyroid) so here is what has been working pour moi:

Oh, and also I'm on Instagram now (#roxcandymountain) so, yeah, I'm a little excited about that, as you can see.
Anyway:
1) (from left to right)  
Neutrogena Oil Free Makeup Remover.  I have never found anything better.  It just works and the price is right.
Clinique All About Eyes eye cream.  It's good.  It wins awards.  I'm not sure if it's working yet, but time will tell.
Soap & Glory Fab Pore Peel.  I like this so far.  I got it recently and have only used it a few times but it has totally been doing the job I bought it for.  My skin has huge pores that get all filled up really easily and then my face looks dull and "junky" (for lack of a better word) and this totally clears all that up. You just pop it on, wait 10 minutes (it tingles slightly as it eats your face--at least that's waht I picture) and then I wipe it off with a warm facecloth.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant.  I've talked about this one before,  It's a great powder that you add a bit of water to and it turns into a brightening scrub.  Awesome!
Soap & Glory Make Yourself Youthful Serum.  A nice, light creamy serum that I put on after I wash my face and before I put on moisturizer, both in am and pm.  Really helping me counteract this nasty winter weather.
Avene Rich Compensating Cream.  A nice, thick (but not pore-clogging) cream that goes well under makeup (or not).  It really does the trick on this old handbag. :)
Dermalogica Precleanse.  It's a cleansing oil that really helps break up dirt and especially makeup (even eye) on your face before cleansing.  I'm almost out of it so the true test is whether I cough up another $35 to get another bottle or try something different.

2) Vichy Normaderm is one of those cleansing waters that you don't need to rinse off.  I've tried a bunch of them, and as you may know I have and love the Bioderma but I have to say I love this one even more.  It really gets your skin down to brass tacks without leaving any film.  Perfect to take off makeup before cleansing or just take off the day if you want to do a quicky clean.

3) In the shower I used to use Cetaphil and sometimes still do but I also need to penetrate the dermis a bit ore so depending on the day I either use Soap & Glory Scrub your nose in it on my t zone (can leave on a bit as a masque or just use as scrub) or Lush's Buche De Noel which is a rich scrub made of almond that smells like you should eat it and adds some nice oils to your face while it scrubs.  Buche is a holiday product but they have one similar in their regular line if you ask them.
(The other tub is Lush Sweetie Pie Shower Jelly--it is purple with sparkles and smells like My Little Pony--I die!)

Sooo...what I do is soak a couple cotton pads with the Vichy, take off the first layer of makeup and gunk, then I use Precleanse to really get it off.  I rub it all over my face, eyes last as it gets your mascara everywhere, and then rinse off (it turns milky--cool!), then I use the Microfoliant to get my pores clean (or do the Soap & Glory peel--which is really a masque--that I leave on for at least 10 minutes) and then take off with facecloth, slap on some serum on face and neck and then the compensating cream and  at night the eye cream.
Bingo bango...

Book Review: Let's Pretend This Never Happened

Let's Pretend this Never Happened by Jenny Lawson

This book is hilarious!
If you like David Sedaris or Cheslsea Handler you will love this book!
Why? Because it is also comedic, a memoir, about a crazy-ass dad, mental health issues, life, you know...LOL stuff?
I don't want to give too much away and I am really not interested in writing a wing-baggy review, but I am very happy that I bought this, if only to make me burst out laughing when reading it into the wee hours (and it also helped me address some of my own mental health issues?).  It is one of those books you read in two days because every spare chance you get you want to pick it up and get a hit.
I'm sure you will laugh as well as Jenny takes us on a whirl-wind ride through her ridiculous childhood in rural Texas through to being a mother herself and trying to shield her daughter from rural Texas (and then also realizing, hey, it's not sooooo bad, right?)
Again, I don't even want to give you an anecdote because I want you to read it (and because I'm sure you can get these off the intermabob)
